Synopsis

A tour of the places linked to the life and works of the writer Manuel de Pedrolo, related to Tàrrega-Benaura, the town that features in Mecanoscrit. Pedrolo, the centenary of whose birth is this year, 2018, wrote poetry, theatrical narrative and plays and was one of the most prolific creators of Catalan literature. He is known thanks to his dystopian novel, “Second origin typescript" (Mecanoscrit del segon origen, 1974), turned into a film by Bigas Lunas and Carles Porta in 2015. This literary tour, full of details and anecdotes, is led by Xavier García, literary critic and one of the leading experts on Pedrolo, who offers us an approach and entertaining vision of the writer’s imaginary and enables us to reread and make sense of the references to Tàrrega in the writer’s work.
