Hands Up

Synopsis

Performative action of dance and movement that focuses on the culture of assertion and reifies it in a specific physical position, with hands up. From a sociological point of view, this artistic research is in the context of recent world events and highlights the culture of non-constructive protest. A favourable form for anarchy to take root. To visualise the distance between commitment and surrender, between reconciliation and resistance. The thesis is that there is no single truth or single answer. Agniete Lisickinaite invites us to take a vindictive tour, while lifting our hands, to ascertain it.
