We present a preview of this year’s programme where you will find a varied selection of spectacles (dance, circus, puppets, clown, musical theatre, etc), but especially street theatre spectacles, proposals designed for public spaces understood in the widest, renewing and plural sense, spectacles that let us know tendencies and that give us new references for artistic creation.
INAUGURATION
To inaugurate FiraTàrrega 2010, the Catalan producer Free Art and the company Voalà Project offer Muaré, a giant mobile where a group of acrobats hanging from a backdrop perform choreographies that play with optical effects. A large aerial format with live music, projections, spectacular images and with the sky as the backcloth. (1)

SINGULAR
Daring and different proposals that work on a new relation with the spectators.
►Habitaculum by the company Kamchatka, the winning project of this year’s Creation Laboratory, is a spectacle created in Tàrrega in the surprising venue of the abandoned old home of Cal Trepat factory. Directed by Adrian Schvarzstein, it is an emotive trip through the intimate world of some people who have come from a distant country with their suitcases and memories. (1)

► Jetse Batelaan is one of the most promising young voices of Dutch theatre, currently linked to the direction of the prestigious Ro Theater in Rotterdam. With Broeders, they construct a daring and suggestive dramaturgy, both regarding the venue for the performance and its narrative typology. A montage that talks metaphorically about essential principles of the human condition: relations, dependence, the resorts that move the world forward. (2)
► Exercicis d'amor by the Valencian company El Pont Flotant talks about human relations, desires or solitude, in a surprising spectacle—that includes the making and tasting of a paella— where the audience are invited to form part of a celebration of a union between people.
► Warner & Consorten is a Dutch company specialised in provocative and entertaining performances. Now they present their latest work, Bokkesprongen, an itinerant spectacle full of action and movement, full of absurd characters who interact with the audience and the street furniture they come across. (2)
► The shop window of a central shop is the venue chosen by La Reial to present Bunny me! where two jobless put themselves up for sale like pets and do their utmost to make the passers-by buy them.
►¿Hacia donde? is the latest spectacle by the company Marco & Chloé since this couple began their career in 2005 in search of their own language and narrative emphasising the choreographic character of flamenco and wagering on presenting it in non-conventional spaces.
IRISH STREET ARTS
This year, la Fira presents 3 spectacles by Irish street theatre companies as the result of the collaboration with the Irish government: Dance Theatre Ireland who present Block Party, an entertaining choreography that uses giant children’s building blocks and combines dance, music and architecture; Fidget Feet, a company that mixes contemporary dance and circus with Hang On, a very technical montage based on aerial dance, and Tumble Circus with Up Above, a spectacle that gathers together the best moments from this street circus company’s artistic career over the last ten years.

ON THE STREET
Diversity of styles and languages in the use of public spaces.
Catalonia
The street is Leandre’s home and in Chez Leandre, his latest spectacle, he is willing to open up the door for us to enter... A clown show full of optimism and sentiment.
► Finlàndia talk about the unfinished moments, the words that are left on our lips, the thoughts that are not developed, instants gathered and expressed through movement by La Veronal, a young dance company influenced by the cinema and with a solid corporal base.
► Rodafonio is a circular artefact, a large wheel where four musicians move; a creation by Factoria Circular, a new company founded by César Alvarez (Palo q'Sea)
► and a selection of the best circus created in Catalonia: the elegance and lyricism of the risk of ATempo; 1, 2, 3 poma by the company Daraomai, a spectacle full of humour and poetry.
Spain
Sine Terra is a spectacle with large format structures and live music in which the Majorcans Res de Res sum their experience in visual and poetic productions with the concept of contemporary circus of Circ Bover
► Habitus Mundi is an itinerant spectacle in which some friars who have spent their lives closed in the monastery discover that there is in fact another life: the world of cabaret and music-hall
► Memòria d’Eriçó is a performance by the young Balearic company Versió Àcida performed by the dancer Catalina Carrasco which is an apology for creativity and faith as energies allied in the transformation of the world
► The Basque company En la Lona present Éxodo, an itinerant spectacle, physical theatre and starring three large wheels where dances, rituals with fire, acrobatics, physical theatre and humour are mixed together.

International
The Polish company Teatr STREFA CISZY present Salto Mortale, a hypnotic spectacle with six pianos and twelve performers, who combine circus, grotesque clown, dance-theatre and music to build a profoundly beautiful and impacting metaphor.
► The Fanfare Jo Bithume is a band of musicians who come out onto the street to connect with their audience and create a festive atmosphere performing a repertoire that ranges from Haendel to Zappa, from Nino Rota to The Beatles. A entertaining theatricalised concert by this experienced French company.
► La Chouing, a French company keen on extreme characters, offer us Cendres, a tragic-burlesque montage without words in which two brothers invite the audience to a ceremony full of strange rituals aimed at honouring their dead mother.
► Combining the strong elements of visual theatre and high level of circus acrobatic ability, the Controlled Falling Project by the Australian company This Side Up is like a classic silent film that pays homage to the comedian Buster Keaton.
INDOOR VENUES
Catalonia
En attendant l'inattendu arose from the meeting of Claire Ducreux and Toni Mira, two creators with long professional careers. Two performers with their own stage personalities who present us with a synthesis of their artistic work, a choreographic proposal that talks about life and the passing of time.

► Doll by the company Las Lo las mixes aerial dance with contemporary dance, flamenco and live voice, to talk about women and the world of fashion over the 20th century.
► Egos Teatre propose a musical adaptation of the novel La casa sota la sorra apt for all ages, full of rhythm, intensity, many surprises, good music and a lot of humour.
► Chocolat is a theatricalised concert by Divinas, a female trio specialised in the vocal jazz of the 30s that is accompanied by their inseparable band of musicians.
► Flirt! is the second spectacle by the young clown Guillem Albà with the musical participation on the stage of the Always Drinking Marching Band, with whom he has collaborated in previous years.
► Conceived as a recital from texts by Apel•les Mestres, the spectacle El silenci és or is made up of eight entertaining monologues performed by the well-known actors Jordi Boixaderas and Lluís Soler accompanied by the pianist Lluís Carmona.
Spain
The Sufi poetry of the great mystics in the Iberian Peninsula is the starting point for Habibi, a spectacle by Producciones Viridiana that combines the Arab tradition with the new technologies of the image to create a colouristic and impacting story.
► Vaivén circo-danza is a recently-created Andalucian company that combines the artistic languages of circus and dance to give their circus creations a more contemporary and current prism and that leads us to their latest spectacle: Cayuco
► Bambalina presents Carmen, a puppet show with live music that presents an updated, ironic and renewed vision of the classical myth that connects with the more visual theatre of this Valencian company.
