Final assessment 

With some eighty works in all the genres and styles, and a series of activities for professionals, between the 10th and 13th of September 2009, La Fira again becomes the great international market for the performing arts that, with a wide range of genres and formats, aims to put the emphasis on the creators who have public places as their reference referent or on those spectacles that would be difficult to see in a conventional theatre. FiraTàrrega shows renewed commitment to become a creative veritable territory in the international field, which is diversified with various lines of activities, such as the creative residences, the Laboratory of Creation or the leadership of the European project, Meridians.

The meeting closes the cycle of conferences aimed at professionals, organised by the FiraTàrrega and the Business Development Service (SDE) in the Catalan Institute of Cultural Industries (ICIC) about street arts and circus.

The prestige of FiraTàrrega is becoming ever clearer, especially as a model of efficient organisation and, for this reason, various of the people in charge of the theatrical event are invited to different forums both to explain the specific nature of the La Fira and to evaluate the current stage panorama. In recent years, various academic books and doctoral theses have been published about La Fira and analyse several of its aspects.

A book published by the Bad Honnef University in Bonn (Germany) has chosen the case of FiraTàrrega to analyse the theory and practice applied when organising a successful event.

Between the 11th and 14th of September 2008, Tàrrega will once again be transformed into the great showcase for the performing arts and a professional meeting point. We present a preview of this year-s programme in which you will find a bit of everything (dance, circus, puppets, clowns, musical theatre, etc.), but especially street shows, proposals thought up for public places understood with a wide renewing and plural view that allows us to see new tendencies and that provide new reference points for artistic creation.
